Dr. Sara Mayes is a Seattle native with degrees from both the University of Washington and Washington State University. After living in Idaho for 7 years and working in combined emergency and mixed animal practice there, she returned to the Pacific Northwest to be closer to family. She recently joined Cascade Animal Clinic after an almost decade long career as medical director at another hospital in our neighboring town of Everett. Dr. Mayes focuses her practice primarily on internal medicine cases and loves the challenge of figuring out how to help sick pets. In addition to working full time as a Veterinarian, she runs a 501©(3) non-profit rescue that specializes in large pet snakes and other reptiles. She has a large collection of pets at home that include 5 cats, 7 dogs, a goose flock, and a huge variety of reptile pets! Her hobbies include road cycling and mountain biking, snow skiing and camping, although her work as a Veterinarian and running an animal rescue takes up most of her time!
